Automotive Cybersecurity & Vehicle Regulations
You know what a TARA is. By the end of this cohort, you’ll have run one.
A live cohort (6-8 weeks, up to 30 sessions, 5:30 to 7:00 AM IST) for automotive and embedded software engineers with 3+ years. Every week pairs the concept with a hands-on lab: cryptography in C, HSM and secure boot, AUTOSAR SecOC, a full TARA and a mock R155 / AIS-189 audit. Built to be finished alongside a demanding day job.
- Delivered to Maruti Suzuki engineers
- Day-2 feedback 4.42/5
- NPS +42, zero detractors
- Instructor: 12 years, ex-Aptiv, Mercedes-Benz R&D India
Watch automotive cybersecurity being built. Live.
Before you decide anything, spend a Sunday morning with me in our hosted lab. We decode a CAN bus, replay a frame to unlock the doors, model the threat against UN R155, then add SecOC and watch the same replay get rejected.
$ candump vcan0 | python3 -m cantools decode icsim.dbc vcan0 244 [8] 00 00 00 00 01 A3 00 00 :: SPEED: 41.9 km/h vcan0 19B [4] 00 00 0F 00 :: DOORS: LOCKED $ canplayer -I door_unlock.log # replay one frame >> DOORS: UNLOCKED (nothing checked who sent it) # same frame on CAN FD with a SecOC trailer $ ./verify_secoc.py --profile 1 replay_fd.log >> freshness stale, MAC check failed: dropped
Most engineers can quote the standard. Few can implement it.
You’ve heard TARA, CSMS, SecOC and HSM in meetings for a while now. Maybe your project is going through a cybersecurity audit right now, and a security architect is doing the work while you watch.
You’ve probably looked at training already. Most of it explains the standard and leaves. You get the vocabulary and a certificate. You still haven’t encrypted a CAN frame, verified a signed image, or defended a TARA in a review.
And if your next step is architect, or a stronger profile for a move, that’s exactly where someone will ask: “What’s your hands-on experience?”
Six labs. Everything in your own repo.
Foundations, threats & your lab bench
Applied cryptography for embedded engineers
HSM, secure boot & the chain of trust
Security in AUTOSAR Classic & Adaptive
ISO/SAE 21434, CSMS & TARA end to end
Regulations, homologation & audit readiness
Toolchain (ready in the hosted lab, runs in your browser): Linux · SocketCAN / vcan · can-utils · Wireshark · Mbed TLS · OpenSSL · python-can · GCC / GDB · open-source AUTOSAR-style stack. Commercial stacks (for example EB tresos) are demonstrated so you recognise the workflow; no lab depends on a licence.

This is the workspace you’ll use every week: the guide, a terminal and an editor side by side, and an Evidence Pack you build as you go. Click through the screens below. It’s a design preview, so the data is illustrative.
Delivered to 12 Maruti Suzuki engineers. Day 2 learner feedback scored 4.42 out of 5, and our post-programme survey returned an NPS of +42 with zero detractors.
Net practice, not lectures.
- Live concept sessions, 1.5 hours on weekdays, 5:30 to 7:00 AM IST, before office hours. Every session recorded.
- Drill-in labs you build live, then a stretch challenge on your own.
- Personal review of what you built, every week.
- Accountability pods of 3-4 engineers, so you actually finish.
- SME guest lectures from working security architects and compliance leads.
- Live Q&A - bring the questions from your own project.
Three things that turn the learning into a job move.
- Interview preparation kit - a question bank across all six pillars with model answers, and how to put your labs and TARA on your CV so they read as experience.
- Mock interview with a working SME - a practising security architect runs it and gives written feedback.
- AUTOSAR CP & AP security configuration cheat sheets - which modules and parameters, in what order, and why.
For you if you're:
- An engineer with 3+ years, or a technical lead heading toward an architect or security role
- An AUTOSAR, infotainment or embedded engineer who wants the specialism fewer people can implement
- A testing / validation engineer moving into security testing
- A team lead who has to run 21434-compliant projects and face CSMS audits
Certification pathway: syllabus mapped to the knowledge areas of ACP (CYRES / TÜV Rheinland), the SAE International / TÜV SÜD certification and CACSP (TÜV SÜD India). Micromotiv is independent and not affiliated with these bodies.

Let's see if it's the right next step for you.
30 minutes with Zakir. We look at where you are, where you want to be in 12 months, and what's in the way. If the cohort fits, we'll talk about joining. If it doesn't, you'll leave with a clearer plan anyway.

FAQ
Is it really hands-on, or slides with a demo?
Every week has a lab you build yourself in our hosted lab, and it's reviewed. That's the whole point of the programme.
Do I need to install anything for the labs?
No. The Linux lab is hosted at labs.micromotiv.com and runs in your browser, so there's no VM to set up and no admin rights needed on an office laptop. Access is free for your first two months; after that, an optional low-cost subscription gives you unlimited exercises and practice.
I work full time. Can I keep up?
Most of our learners do. Sessions are live on weekdays from 5:30 to 7:00 AM IST, before office hours, and all recorded. Plan on 6-8 hours a week including labs. The pods exist so someone notices if you fall behind.
Do I need prior cybersecurity knowledge?
No. We start from the foundations and cryptography basics. You do need working C and basic comfort with a Linux terminal.
Will this get me a TÜV / SAE certificate?
No. Those bodies run their own mandatory training and exams, so no independent course can award their certificate. We cover their knowledge areas and give you a mapped practice exam, so you can sit one straight after.
What will I be able to show in an interview?
Six labs in your own repo, a complete TARA and an audit evidence pack - plus the interview kit and a mock interview with a working SME.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Use code C2SPLIT to pay ₹20,000 now and get full access straight away. The ₹15,000 balance is due four weeks later, so it falls after your next salary credit. The steps are in the How to join section above the booking calendar.
What if it's not for me?
7-day money-back guarantee. Attend the first week; if the teaching isn't right for you, email within 7 days of the first class for a full refund, no questions asked.
When does it start?
Monday 2 November 2026. Enrolment closes on Sunday 1 November at 11:59 PM IST. It is a live cohort, so everyone starts together.
Cohort 2 · limited seats · starts 2 November.
