From 2027, AIS-189 and AIS-190 cybersecurity compliance become enforceable for vehicles in India, and every OEM and Tier-1 will need engineers who understand UN-R155/R156, ISO/SAE 21434, TARA and CSMS. Most courses stop at the theory. This one pairs every week with a guided lab in a virtual environment, so you finish with code, configurations and work products you built yourself.

The six weeks

• Week 1 – Foundations, threats & your lab bench. CIAAA, attack trees, the standards landscape, CAN injection and remote attacks. Lab: attack a virtual CAN bus.
• Week 2 – Applied cryptography for embedded engineers. AES modes, SHA-2, CMAC/HMAC, RSA/ECC signatures, key management. Lab: AES encrypt/decrypt, CMAC and signature verification in C with Mbed TLS.
• Week 3 – HSM, secure boot & the chain of trust. SHE/EVITA-class HSMs, secure boot, secure flashing (R156), UDS 0x27/0x29. Lab: build a secure-boot check and break a weak seed-key.
• Week 4 – Security in AUTOSAR Classic & Adaptive. CSM, CryIf, Crypto Driver, SecOC, KeyM; ara::crypto, IAM, IDS. Lab: protect a PDU with SecOC and defeat the replay attack.
• Week 5 – ISO/SAE 21434, CSMS & TARA end to end. Work products, R155/R156, interface agreements, post-development. Lab: run a complete TARA on a connected ECU.
• Week 6 – Vehicle regulations, homologation & audit readiness. AIS-189/190, CMVR, ARAI, ICAT, UNECE, FMVSS, GTRs, type approval. Lab: mock R155/AIS-189 audit, capstone and certification practice exam.

Certification pathway

The syllabus and practice exam are mapped to the knowledge areas of the Automotive Cybersecurity Professional (ACP, certified by TÜV Rheinland), the SAE International / TÜV SÜD Automotive Cybersecurity Certification (Level One / Two) and TÜV SÜD’s Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Practitioner (CACSP).
